In 2018, during the Woolsey Fire, our founder Matthew Tuverson evacuated his home at 2 am with his wife and two toddlers. Three weeks later, he discovered his house had tragically been lost. After losing his home, he decided to use his experience to build houses. Once he obtained his contractor's license, he was among the first in Los Angeles County to complete his home rebuild and move back in.

Matthew grew up in the Palisades and attended high school there, where his family still resided until the Palisades fire in 2025. The level of impact to him, his family, and the coast he cares so much about are why we are dedicated to seeing the Palisades recover and thrive again.
